Replay – Enhancing Teaching Materials with AI: Innovative Tools and Strategies

In this session, we explored how generative AI can support the design and development of more engaging, efficient, and inclusive teaching materials. We looked at how tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot can streamline course planning, support visual and interactive content creation, and help explain complex concepts in accessible ways.

Participants engaged in hands-on activities that demonstrated how AI can assist with everything from creating course-level knowledge repositories to generating images, mini-simulations, and layered explanations of difficult topics. The session provided practical prompts and use cases that educators can apply directly to their course design and teaching practice.

We also discussed some of the current limitations and challenges—such as accuracy, voice, and authenticity—and emphasized the importance of critical reflection when using AI in educational settings. This workshop encouraged experimentation with AI while highlighting the need for thoughtful integration that supports pedagogy, learning outcomes, and accessibility.
