August 27: Maker Session: Creating Teaching Materials with Generative AI
This interactive session explores how foundation models like ChatGPT and Claude, along with tools such as Google LM and AITutor Pro, can support faculty in developing teaching materials across different modalities including text, visuals, and audio-video.
August 26: Supporting Student Learning with AI
This interactive session will explore strategies for guiding students in the responsible and effective use of AI tools across disciplines. We will discuss how to scaffold student learning with AI, from ideation and research to writing and problem-solving, while promoting academic integrity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.
July 31: Teaching with GenAI: A Practical Introduction for Educators
This online session is designed for faculty and staff who are new to this area. We will introduce large language models such as ChatGPT and explore their implications for teaching, learning, and curriculum design.
July 23: Rethinking Assessment in the Age of Generative AI
This session explores how educators can redesign assessment practices to reflect the new realities of AI-enhanced learning. Rather than focusing on detection or prohibition, we will look at how to create assessments that support critical thinking, transparency, and process-based learning.
July 16: Gen AI and Open Educational Resources (OER) in Teaching and Learning
Join us for an interactive online workshop where we will explore the challenges, contradictions, and opportunities at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Open Educational Resources (OER). In this session we will discuss the potential of AI in generating dynamic content, including interactive textbooks, and its potential in developing open educational resources and practices.
June 23: POSE Open Research Chat: How Generative AI (GenAI) Impacts Perceptions of Critical Thinking Skills and Practices

Replay: Integrating Generative AI in Assignment Design
On August 14th, CTLT hosted a workshop on Integrating Generative AI in Assignment Design. This session aimed to assist faculty and students in creating assignments that promote academic integrity, creativity, critical thinking, and rigorous scholarship. Participants learned practical techniques for incorporating generative AI into assignments and were guided through the process to understand its implications on academic integrity. The workshop also explored how Generative AI can support teaching, including resource design and learner support.
